Both stations have their studios located on Forsyth Street in downtown Macon. The transmitter for WPGA-TV is situated on GA 87/US 23/US 129 ALT (Golden Isles Highway), near the Twiggs–Bibb county line.
In an announcement made on February 15, 2023, Marquee Broadcasting revealed its plan to trade WPGA-TV and WPGA-LD to Gray Television. In exchange, Gray Television would transfer its station KNIN-TV, which serves the Boise, Idaho market.
This station swap fulfilled an important objective for Gray Television, as it aimed to have a full-service station in every market in Georgia, the company’s home state. It is worth noting that Gray Television does not own stations in the Chattanooga or Jacksonville markets, which include some Georgia counties. The completion of the station swap took place on May 1, 2023.
