About KLFY Tv
It holds the distinction of being the oldest television station in the Lafayette area. The station’s studios are situated on Eraste Landry Road in Lafayette, while its transmitter is located in Maxie, north of Rayne.
In addition to its primary coverage area, KLFY-TV is carried on cable and satellite providers in the Lake Charles metro area and Southwest Louisiana. Previously, it served as the default CBS affiliate for the market until February 15, 2017, when KSWL-LD became the first CBS affiliate in the area since the sign-off of KTAG-TV in 1961.
KLFY-TV is also available over-the-air in most of the Baton Rouge and Alexandria viewing areas. In the Alexandria market, KLFY-TV used to serve as one of two default CBS affiliates, alongside KNOE-TV of Monroe, until the launch of a CBS affiliate on the subchannel of local NBC affiliate KALB-TV in 2006. Until mid-2015, KLFY-TV was carried on Suddenlink cable in Alexandria simultaneously with CBS affiliate KALB-DT2.
KLFY TV has a long history, with its first broadcast taking place in 1955. It offers a variety of programming, including local news, weather updates, sports coverage, and entertainment content. The station’s news team is dedicated to providing accurate and relevant news to the community.
In addition to news programming, KLFY TV features various shows and segments that cater to the interests of its viewers. These may include lifestyle features, community events coverage, and special reports on local issues and stories.
