About KOLN/KGIN 10/11 News

The station is committed to delivering timely and accurate news coverage, keeping viewers informed about local events, regional news, and national stories of significance. KGIN-TV actively engages with the community through various initiatives, partnerships, and community service projects. It strives to be a trusted source of news and information for the viewers in Lincoln and the surrounding areas.

KGIN, operating on channel 11 in Grand Island, acts as a semi-satellite of KOLN, catering to the central portion of the market. KGIN maintains a news bureau and sales office on West State Street in Grand Island, along with transmitter facilities near Heartwell, Nebraska.

Together, these stations are collectively branded as “10/11” and cover one of the largest areas in the United States. Their reach spans across 42 counties in southern and central Nebraska, encompassing almost two-thirds of the state’s geographical land area. Additionally, they cover four counties in Kansas.

KOLN/KGIN shares ownership with KSNB-TV (channel 4), an NBC affiliate licensed to York. Gray Television acquired KSNB-TV in 2013, and it simulcasts in high definition on the second digital subchannel of KGIN. Previously, KSNB-TV aired MyNetworkTV and MeTV programming, along with producing central Nebraska-specific newscasts. After Gray’s acquisition of KHAS-TV, the NBC affiliate in Hastings, KSNB-TV took over as the primary NBC affiliate for the market, resulting in the closure of KHAS-TV.

KSNB-TV relocated to the former KHAS-TV studio outside of Hastings on US 281, while some operations are based at KOLN’s facilities. Gray Television reacquired KNHL (formerly KHAS-TV) from Legacy Broadcasting on March 1, 2019, and transformed it into a satellite of KSNB-TV to improve its signal coverage.

Additionally, KOLN/KGIN’s sister station includes the low-power station KCWH-LD (channel 18) in Lincoln, which serves as a translator for KSNB-TV and is a CW affiliate through The CW Plus.

Another semi-satellite of KOLN, KNPL-LD (channel 10), operates in North Platte. KOLN serves as the master hub for Gray’s Nebraska television stations, excluding WOWT (channel 6), the NBC affiliate in Omaha.
