About KEYC Tv CBS 12
KEYC-TV is a television station based in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa that originally launched on October 5, 1960 as an NBC affiliate. However, in 1961, KEYC switched its affiliation to the CBS network. Over the years, the station expanded its programming options and added FOX as an affiliate in July 2007, which can be accessed on channel 12-2. CBS programming remains available on channel 12-1 via over-the-air transmission. In a recent development on October 6, 2022, KEYC introduced Circle programming on channel 12-3.
KMNF-LD is another television station operating in southern Minnesota, serving as a dual affiliate for NBC and CW+. It began broadcasting on October 28, 2019, with regular programming commencing on December 1, 2019. KMNF-LD can be accessed over-the-air on channels 7-1 and 7-2. Interestingly, the KMNF call letters pay homage to the station’s history, as they were originally assigned to KEYC in 1957. The call letters were subsequently changed to KEYC-TV in the summer of 1958.
In June 2023, both KEYC and KMNF expanded their over-the-air line-up by introducing additional channels. This included the inclusion of Ion, Oxygen, and a 24/7 weather channel.
To keep viewers informed, KEYC News Now broadcasts local news on weekdays at various times. The morning news runs from 5:30 to 7:00 AM and is aired on both CBS and NBC. At noon, there is a 30-minute news segment on CBS. Another CBS program called “Kato Living” airs from 4:00 to 4:30 PM. The early evening news is broadcast from 5:00 to 5:30 PM on CBS. For the 6:00 to 6:30 PM slot, news is available on both CBS and NBC. In the evening, the 9:00 to 9:30 PM news can be watched on FOX, and the late-night news runs from 10:00 to 10:35 PM on both CBS and NBC.
On Saturdays, local news is aired at 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM on CBS, and at 9:00 PM on FOX. On Sundays, the local news is broadcast at 9:00 PM on FOX and at 10:00 PM on CBS.
