KERO-TV, also known as 23ABC News, is a television station based in Bakersfield, California. It is the local ABC affiliate for the Bakersfield area.

KERO TV was founded on September 29, 1953, as KERO-TV. It was originally owned by the Bakersfield Television Company. The station’s first broadcast was on September 29, 1953. KERO-TV was the first television station in Bakersfield. In 1986, KERO-TV was sold to the E. W. Scripps Company.
KERO TV’s news operation is known as KERO 23 News. The station’s news team is led by news director Jeff Olsen. KERO 23 News broadcasts a 30-minute morning newscast, a 30-minute midday newscast, and a 60-minute evening newscast. The station also produces a number of other news and public affairs programs.
